Completed Counter Site



Downstream View
Both of the banks up and downstream of the site are protected by stone gablings. The counter hut, raised above the 100 year flood level, was built adjacent to the weirs. This hut is used to store the fish counter and associated equipment.

Upstream View
A footbridge across the two weirs provides access to electrode cabling and an overhead camera used for video verification. Access to the reinstated fish-pass is also available.

New Fish Pass
The original fish pass is reinstated, with screens removed and increased flow through the pass, future siltation of the pass should not be expected.

New Sluice Gates
New sluice gates fitted to one of the original fish traps allows a trap to be operated. With the sluice gates open and inscales fitted salmon can be trapped, as required, for the collection of ova.
